Some bands might interpret trailer robbery and a studio-destroying flood as messages from the universe that perhaps their music is not meant to be. Canadian pop ensemble Library Voices, however, seem to translate these fiascos into a form of musical adrenaline- pumping out three releases in two years.

Garnering early attention from The New Yorker and SPIN, the band has become increasingly known for bouncy pop hooks as well as crafty literary references with songs titles such as “If Raymond Carver Was Born in the 90’s.”

Their most recent effort aptly named Summer Of Lust combines the carefreeness of youth complimented by the vigor of raging hormones with clever lyrical references to drunk-texts and lap dances draped over infectious melodies. With seven members and seemingly endless energy, if there is one thing Library Voices can guarantee of their SXSW 2012 shows it is that you will dance.
