The music community was excited back in June when we learned that SXSW '04 Alum Sufjan Stevens was in fact working on a new album. The excitement came to a rolling boil when we learned that he'd booked a North American tour, set to perform live in large and beautiful, historic theaters and venues across the continent. Then, less than a couple weeks ago, we just about exploded when he surprised us by digitally releasing 60 minute EP All Delighted People with the promise of a physical release to follow shortly.

As if all this wasn't enough, just a few days ago, Stevens and label, Asthmatic Kitty, announced the new full-length album, The Age of Adz would be released on October 12. This new album marks the first full-length since 2005's Illinois. With the promise of sounding very different from the just released EP, this is proving to be one of the most anticipated releases of the year. And since everyone is balancing on the edge of their seats, Stevens is streaming the 4th track, "I Walked," from the upcoming album over at his bandcamp site, where you can also preorder the records.
