In this space every week, we will give you insight into the changes and all-new happenings at SXSW 2011. This week, the focus is the new SXSW Interactive Awards.

The event that used to be called the SXSW Web Awards has broadened its scope for 2011 to include digital experiences not limited to the browser. New categories like Kiosk / Installation and Social Media will extend the reach of our competition to technology we use in our everyday lives while away from our computers.

And because we don't want you to miss any of the excitement, be sure to mark your calendar for the date change. Held on the Sunday of SXSW Interactive in the past, the SXSW Interactive Awards will now take place on Tuesday, March 15. Stay tuned to the ceremony page to get the details closer to the event.

SXSW Interactive Awards is still accepting entries, so be sure to enter your digital project before October 15 for the earlybird rate. To attend the ceremony and many other incredible events for the lowest rate of the season, register before the September 24 deadline. We hope to see you in March!
