Content Goes Horizontal
In the global entertainment industries, ‘content convergence’ has probably been the most talked about topic of the last decade. Its effect can certainly be seen at SXSW, with our convergence of the music, film and interactive industries. This is especially so during our dynamic Trade Show.
We're not the only event trying to keep up with the trends. Following in these same footsteps is the world’s largest trade show for books – the Frankfurter Buchmesse. Held every October in Frankfurt, Germany, it is also one of the world’s oldest trade shows and dates back to at least the 17th century.
The organizers of this event have now launched a new two day conference and media market place, which will take place during the main Book Fair. Called ‘Storydrive’, it will take a look at how the world of books and publishing can interface with film, television, music and gaming. It will be interesting to see whether ‘readers’ have the same perspective on convergence as ‘watchers’ and ‘listeners’.
Mirko Whitfield, a member of the SXSW international sales team, will be speaking at ‘Storydrive’ conference session on the morning of October 6th, 2010. More details can be found at http://storydrivefrankfurt.com/
