Music Panel Video: Music and the Revolution
The 40th anniversary of the Kent State shootings was May 4. In March, SXSW presented the panel "Music and the Revolution" which looked at Vietnam-era activism and the music which united the protesters. In this clip we hear from moderator Mike Jacobs, musicians Wayne Kramer and Country Joe McDonald and noted activist Bill Ayers. Each speaker touches on how music informed their political dissent.
Technical note: The lighting in the room was dim, which means part of this video is somewhat dark. We regret the imperfections, but trust that you'll enjoy these excerpts.
An audio-only podcast of the entire panel is available here.
