Emergence is gearing up to unleash their Revival Showcase: Women in Hip-Hop. Philadelphia's veteran DJ turned MC Bahamadia will be making her SXSW premiere as at this special event. Bahamadia made her mark in the early 90s, coming out and earning recognition in a male-dominated scene. She made her debut back in 1994 and emerged as a well respected hip-hop lyracist. Bahamadia became a member of the Gang Starr Foundation and solidified her stance as one of hip-hop's most influential female artists with solo endeavors and collaborations with Talib Kweli, The Roots and Jedi Mind Tricks. Friday, March 19 at Historic Victory Grill catch Bahamadia with a slew of other hip-hop acts including: Tiye Phoenix, Invincible, Psalm One and more!

SXSW is excited for what promises to be a legendary showcase. Emergence will be filming the event for a follow up short documentary for their Revival Series.
